I’m glad these 9v cells are Mercury free.

Interesting, but I wonder if the LED would hit thermal runaway if the switch was shorted out and the light was always on…ย  Seems dangerous to glue the LED directly onto the battery.

I really like this. The simplicity along with superior performance is quite impressive. I am going to make a few tomorrow and give away to friends. With very little effort the battery can be swapped out when it gets weak. Or I may use a rechargeable battery.. Just unplpug the connector and plug the battery into a charger. I think I may try placing the LED on the end of the battery where you placed the switch and put the switch on the side of the battery to help stream line the design.. I may even try two batteries for longer use time. Slip a piece of shrink tape over it all, heat it a little to snug up everything and increase durability. Would you mind telling me which LED you used? Thanks, great video.

This really needs a "cheerio!" splash screen at the end. It would have annoyed the video thieves to boot. Though to annoy the thieves you could have branded your battery or battery packaging. Ilett Energy by Zap-fry Ltd, Julian Provence, Shenzhen. Yeah, I right like that.

Could all of you please refrain from posting nasty comments? This is dissing MrGear and is a joke video. It’s better than MrGears videos anyway.

And the undocumented BigClive feature? If you have a robust enough 9v battery, the torch will explode in your hands if used for more than 120 seconds… due to thermonuclear meltdown of thebattery due to the excessive heat caused by the LED ๐Ÿ˜› Fun videos Julian!

It looks like Julian has been to Mr. Gear’s channel and even copied his format. It’s one thing to see something and make it, but if you are going to make a video then improve upon the idea or concept and be original.
Peace!

Neat device. I built something similar with D batteries. Wow you got some upset fans. They should be more thankful if you ask me. It’s free for the love of Pete.

So cool! I’m thinking about going off grid and using these to light my house. Maybe add a solar panel on one side and a gas generator to charge then in the winter. Gonna save thousands. :0

PowerCell batteries. They’ll spew their guts into whatever you put them into long before their expiry date so when your TV remote control stops working and you think it’s time to change the batteries, no you’ll need to buy a new remote control.

Do yourself a favour and discard the rest of the pack before you put one into something valuable.
