World’s most powerful LED light – 5kW (1kW module build part 2)

In part two of the 1kW water-cooled LED module build, I’m claiming the record for the world’s most powerful LED light with all five 1kW modules assembled into a single testbench unit. The modules are also shown in the final installation.

How are you pulling that much amperage? Even a 25 amp circuit in your shop would leave almost no overhead for tools and other stuff. Or do you have it spread across multiple circuits?

Oh my God : ( at 5:59 ) your cat has just lost 50% of its visual capacity, or more, for the rest of his life !

I hope them LEDs don’t have a large spike in blue light (about 450nm) like most white and white full spectrum LEDs. It can be very damaging to your eyes. Have seen people get serious eye problems from 1000W LEDs, let alone 5000W. That’s with mostly reflective light for fairly short periods of time too.

The time when L.E.D.s started producing heat just flew by me I guess. The point of L.E.D.s is to channel energy more efficiently by not wasting it in heat production. Again, when did L.E.D.s start producing heat?

Now you have the power of the sun in your garage. Cold winter day? Fire up your lights, get your lawn chair, and lay back with a drink.

Do 5 more and then get 1 big single lens to focus it to a beam! Up vote this so he see it!

why not use a larger coolant resevor? We do this for aquaponics to stabilize the temperature with larger water mass.

I like your videos and cool projects. I also hate to sound like a Mom, but you should probably take some time and some poly and/or drywall to cover off that exposed fiberglass insulation. Its probably releasing tiny strings of fiberglass which you and your cat are breathing(like @ 6:42). Also it gets into your skin and causes itchiness and irritation. On top of the health effects(not much safer for you than asbestos) this stuff can be very flammable. A condo building under construction burned to the ground when someone threw a cigarette but into a pile of this stuff near where I live.

"Most powerful single LED light"??? Not only do you have 50 COBs, each COB has 20+ LEDs in it. So…..single LED light?

great design, its good to be use at outdoor or indoor lighting, but if you can use the LED module with CRI over 90 that would be great to be use for filming application, such as for automotive testing laboratory etc, they need high brightness, high CRI, while small product size,
